MEET THE ELLIS INSPECTION TEAM
Phil Long
Phil Long has been in the construction and maintenance trades for the past 30 years. He was in industrial maintenance and facilities engineering for 12 years, then became a general contractor and managed the construction side of a house-flipping business that successfully completed over 250 projects. He now works with Ellis Inspection Services as a professional home inspector and is certified and licensed for stucco in Alabama.
Jim Ellis
Jim started studying to become a home inspector in 1997. It took one full year via mail correspondence before the real Internet of today. In 1998 he became the 264th registered inspector in Alabama and is among the longest-standing inspectors in Alabama & Florida. Now he is working a few days per week and acting as a consultant to Brenner Sweat for his daily operations. He worked his way up the ranks as a firefighter to become the Fire Chief in Lillian for some time and is currently helping the Perdido Beach Fire Dept as an Assistant Chief. Dale Harris
Dale Harris has been inspecting with Ellis Inspections Services for over a year. After serving in the Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller in England and New Mexico, Dale enjoyed a 25-year career in medical sales management with Pfizer. In addition, Dale has extensive real estate experience as an investor, landlord, and former Alabama real estate agent. When not inspecting homes, Dale enjoys fishing off his pier in Little Lagoon with his wife, Resa, and their dog, Peanut, as well as managing the family hunting camp in Gilbertown, Alabama.
Darryl Bunch
Darryl Bunch was born and raised in Texas and moved to Foley in 2013. He joined Ellis Inspection Services shortly after moving to the coast. He prides himself in performing thorough and detailed inspections with a focus on customer service. Darryl has extensive experience in home and apartment maintenance. He is married with two grown children. In his free time, he enjoys boating and the occasional golf game.
Kristy Cooper
Kristy Cooper has lived in the Florida panhandle her entire life and is married with 4 grown children and 1 teenager at home. She enjoys inspecting homes and has been since 2016. Kristy started in construction when she was 22 years old, where she was able to gain the knowledge and skills needed to help with your home purchase.
Brenner Sweat
Brenner has been a resident of South Baldwin County his entire life. He grew up in the family business and has been in the inspection business for 13 years. Prior to purchasing Ellis Inspection Services, Brenner owned and operated the day-to-day operations of an inspection company in Orange Beach, AL. When not working, Brenner enjoys hunting and fishing on Alabama’s beautiful Gulf Coast.
Wes Wilds
Wes Wilds is originally from New Orleans but has lived in Coastal Alabama for 12 years. He has been in the home inspection industry since 2015 and now performs administrative and inspection duties with Ellis Inspections. Wes is an avid sports fan and lives with his wife and children.
